We haven’t talk about the iPad, maybe cause it’s all said already around the web or maybe because we don’t really think there is nothing special to say… just a bigger iPhone by now.
We all now the open war Google has declared to Apple and in response of that, the first one has released the UI concepts they are developing for its chromium os for multitouch devices.
For us, multitouch surfaces are going to suceed in the future, is the natural way human interacts, but the UI as we know now should be rethought. Apple got its first try with the iPhone, but there is a lot to do for a real interface. Now it is time for Google, in this video we can see new gestures and new ways to make things we do in our every day: resizing windows, open applications, side-tabs, in-window keyboard, contextual menus, probably a step further than Apple goes.
How long is going to survive the desktop metaphor? For multitouch, do we have to change only the UI metaphor or the way computers works also?
