Aircord labo‘s last experiment is amazing. They have developed a pyramid screen which with a special film so when an ipad is placed on the top a 3D illusion is created so you can see the object in the physical space .

The iPad application is made with openFrameworks and the examples are made with Max/MSP. You can download the files.

Muti Randolph is a multi-disciplined artist from Rio de Janeiro. His work falls somewhere under architecture, art. design, visualization etc. It is nice the way the installations appear to warp space and form perception. This work has a lot in common with UVA.

3D Soundclash is a project from Warp & Ninja Tune for the Red Bull Music Academy developed by Field.

It is a new generative real-time animation tool, which motion designers Quayola and Thomas Traum used to design and perform soundreactive visuals for the sets of Plaid, Clark, Mira Calix and many more.

The sound-reactive visuals span 5 screens in line with the immersive sound setup. 3D shapes rendered in realtime, animated textures and shaders, and mouse-controlled camera motion allowed for a huge range of styles and endless flights through an abstract universe.

I’ve been trying to get a better understanding about OpenFrameworks and Open GL, so I did this piece that combines drawing 3D graphics real-time and sound analisys to manipulate them.

The graphics are inspired in the video game Rez developed by Sega and conceptualized by Tetsuya Mizuguchi.

Here you can find the source code. You need OpenFrameworks to run it and ofxMSAShape3D class by Mega Super Awesome Visual Company. Place your own mp3 file into the “data” folder, turn your speaker on and… Enjoy!
