Universidad del Norte’s Portal de Prensa published an article about RitMotion workshop that we taught in Barranquilla during the last week of June 2011. Thanks again to Universidad del Norte for thinking in Aer Studio once again for doing this type of activities.

Aer Studio was invited once again to teach a workshop about interaction design at the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. This time we worked around the topic of creating visual atmospheres that react to music. The students got into the role of VJs and made a set of visuals that were controlled using a Nintendo Wiimote.

We worked during 1 week with 20 students that came from different backgrounds: graphic designers, system engineers and musicians. This multitalented group of people gave the workshop a great level both visual and technical.

We would like to thanks Universidad del Norte, System Engineering department, León Mejia from Graphic Design deparment and specially the organizer, Marlem Uribe from the Biblioteca Karl. C. Parrish, for giving us the opportunity to participate in this great activity one more year.

bRUNA Visual Set at Sónar Chicago

Electronic musician bRUNA was invited to perform at Sónar’s Chicago in September 2010. The performance was held in the majestic Chicago Cultural Center with it’s over 100 year old Tiffany Co. massive stained glass domes. As in Sónar Barcelona, we provided the visual accompaniment for bRUNA’s bright electronic music. Unfortunately, do to budget limitations we were unable to take the light table from the Barcelona performance, so we decided to bring the over-sized projection screen closer to bRUNA and therefore give all the protagonism to the visuals. bRUNA and Hector were swimming ceiling to floor in lights, patterns and glitches.

This project was done in collaboration with Ricardo Duque from Todojunto.

Our talented friend Guille Lopez, who collaborated with Aer in projects such as The Turn, has been responsible for developing part of the front end of the new “personalized video clip” of Arcade Fire.

The Wilderness Downtown is an experiment by Google to test the capabilities of HTML5 combined with some of their services, like Google Maps. Just type your full address in the form, turn your speaker on and let the comic style story begin.
